Candleholder

These sturdy tea light candle holders are crafted from reclaimed porch wood and concrete.
Each holder is positioned off-center for a easy candle removal, and a slightly funky aesthetic.

I made these for the Colgate Community Garden in the summer of 2017. The CCG is located behind the Good Nature Farm Brewery in Hamilton, NY.
Good Nature receives shipments of various ingredients and supplies delivered on pallets, which they usually discard. After talking with the Garden Manager, who voiced the need for seating in the garden, I saw an opportunity to repurpose these pallets as stools.
We held garden workshops where community garden members, Colgate students, friends, and family helped assemble and paint these two stools. (Our two lovely artists were ages 5 and 7. We had a blast.)
This was an independent project I worked on while working with Echo on upcycled housewares and furniture. It was designed with a the Echo brand in mind, using only reclaimed industrial and household materials: a drawer from a damaged and discarded wooden dresser, and some metal bar and paint leftover from previous projects.
